The PFEE department team  sincerely congratulates the graduate of the PFEE  department with his PhD defense!

Vasko Kostiantyn Oleksandrovych, graduate of group OT-13-1, defended his PhD thesis on 21.12.2023, city of Limoges (France), XLIM, University of Limoges.

In 2018, Kostiantyn went to France, Limoges, XLIM, University of Limoges for an exchange program for masters, where he began to work on his topic, the results of which the world soon saw.

Topic: “Numerical (1+2D)/3D tool to model the surface scattering of light in the inhibited coupling hollow fiber”

Supervisor and co-supervisor: M. Fetah BENABID, Directeur de Recherche CNRS, XLIM-GPPMM, Université de Limoges and  M. Frédéric GEROME, Directeur de Recherche CNRS, XLIM-GPPMM, Université de Limoges

President of the jury: M. Alain Reineix, Directeur de Recherche CNRS – XLIM-CEM & Diffraction – Université de Limoges

Examiner: M. Luca Vincetti, Professor, Department of Engineering “Enzo Ferrari”, University of Modena and Reggio Emilia

Reviewers: M. Rodrigo Amezcua Correa, Professor – CREOL – University of Central Florida

M. Gilles Renversez, Professeur – Institut Fresnel – Université d’Aix-Marseille

At the time of defense, the applicant had: 13 publications. Also  2 preprints were submitted  to Lightwave Technology and 1 was published in Nature Communications.

We asked Kostiantyn how Khnure and the department helped him on his way?

Konstantin commented: “KHNURE is my base, there I learned how to study, first of all. Also, all the knowledge about the lasers and their physics. The ability to solve problems is a very important achievement from KHNURE.” 🙂

Besides, Kostiantyn has plans for the future. For now, gain experience in R&D company (France), later dreams of returning to Ukraine.

We are happy to congratulate our graduate with such wonderful news! This path is long and thorny, but the goal set – the development of a scientist in oneself – is great! We wish strength, success, new achievements and victory to our mother country!
